Johanna + Tristan (Germany)
Johanna and Tristan are two of the most loving and kind people I’ve ever met.
I really enjoyed getting to know this couple, as we were planning their wedding.
They traveled from Germany to Norway for their wedding day in a minivan, packed full with the essentials for their wedding.
They vacationed in Norway for a few weeks first, and then made their way to Hardingasete, where they would meet the rest of their family and closest friends.
Hardingasete is a stunning place to have your wedding. With its lovely and cozy huts, where your family can stay. To the incredible views offered from every angle. It truly gives you the national romantic feeling that you see in old Norwegian paintings like J.C Dahl and Tiedemand & Gude.
Not only are the huts beautiful on the outside, but they are well decorated inside in a rustic and nostalgic way that makes you want to say forever.
I was to spend the entire day with the wedding party, and I kicked the day off with the bride Johanna and her girlfriends, getting ready together in the boat house by the fjord.
As you entered the apartment on top of the “naust” music and laughter welcomed you.
The girls were enjoying an Aperol Spritz and Norwegian waffles. If you have never had a Norwegian Waffle before, with butter and brown cheese.. then you have no yet lived (Although I personally enjoy them best with home made raspberry jam).
I later joined Tristan to see how he was getting on. He had decided to wear the Traditional Norwegian costume, or “Bunad” as it’s called, and had rented a Hardanger-bunad for the ocation. This wedding surely was Norway themed.
Family and friends gathered at the docks, where there was benches ready for everyone to sit and enjoy the view. And to keep with the theme, a Norwegian fiddle (Hardingfele) started to play the traditional norwegian wedding waltz.
Tristan was standing looking for his bride, as she came walking down the path in the woods, her brother on her arm. When she came down to the docks her father took her arm and they both walked towards Tristan so he could give her away.
The Mayor of Kvamherad was the officiant, and she did a beautiful job, and even got emotional herself. It was hard not to get lost in all the love that was around us, and you could nearly feel the energy buzzing at your fingertip.
After the official ceremony, the happy couple decided to hver Hardanger Cider and cake at the docks. Which I thought was a brilliant idea!
Usually people have the cake after dinner, but this way they all got something sweet to eat, but they would be hungry again in a few hours. I am definitely recommending this in the future, especially if the dinner comes with desserts at the end. Do the cake after the ceremony!
For their oficial wedding images, we used the area around us.
There were so many beautiful spots down my the fjord, in the small forest right next to the huts, and the walls of the old building. We spent an hour and a half just walking around, talking, having fun and taking some photos together.
Johanna and Tristan is such a team, and it was not hard to tell that these two were crazy for each other.
When we were done we made it to the main house, where the tables were set with beautiful rustic colors, and fairylights were hanging from he roof.
Here’s what Johanna and Tristan had to say about their experience
“We checked out Kristine’s webpage and immediately knew that she was “the one” for us!
Getting in touch was effortless and the first meeting in Bergen left us assured that we shared the same vision regarding our wedding photos…the gut feeling matters, and we had plenty of gooooood gut feeling, so we chose the whole package (hundreds of photos, 10 hour stay).
As much as we could describe every nuance of the experience, we would like to keep it short: It was a terrific experience to have Kristine around at our wedding! As we expected, she exuded professionalism and did her work in such an elegant way, that we either didn’t notice her or - if we noticed her – were happy that she was present. Although we had a small wedding party of twenty people, she blended in perfectly. Every guest specifically noted, even long after the wedding, that they were very fond of Kristine’s empathic and comforting presence.
The couple session – as intimate as it usually is – was fun and relaxed and to our taste could have gone on for a couple of more hours.
Back in Germany Kristine took the time to present every single picture to us via Skype and sent us our beautiful gift box and a thoughtful present. Even though this started as a professional relationship we felt like we had found a new friend…and almost one year later, this perception hasn’t changed.
TLDR; book her!!!”
